Anti-rational Meme

An idea that relies on disabling the recipients’ critical faculties to cause itself to be replicated.

Often these ideas tap into base human emotions (fear and anger) to seduce people into believing and replicating them.

For example, using the threat of terrorism to justify passing laws that censor free speech.

A society that is dominated by rational memes. Dynamic societies celebrate the ideals of the Enlightenment such as tolerance, free speech, and a willingness to change.
